T.D. Regehr fonds. -- 1906-1989 -- 31 cm of textual material.

Theodore D. Regehr was born in Coldale, Alberta, in 1937. After completing high school and university Regehr received his Ph.D. in History from the University of Alberta. Regehr has worked as an archivist at the Public Archives in Ottawa and as a Professor of History at the University of Saskatchewan. He is the author of several books, including The Canadian Northern Railway and Mennonites in Canada 1939-1970: A People Transformed.

In 1986, Dr. T.D. Regehr with assistance from his uncle, J.I. Regehr, began to gather information and material for the purpose of writing a history of the Alexanderkrone Zentralschule in Southern Russia. The result was the publication of For Everything a Season: A History of the Alexanderkrone Zentralschule in 1988.

Jacob I. Regehr (1897-1989) was born in Kleefeld, Southern Russia. He was both a student and a teacher at the Alexanderkrone Zentraschule in Russia. After emigrating to Canada, he attended high school and university and taught school Saskatchewan and Alberta. J.I. Regehr retired to Clearbrook, British Colombia where he passed away in 1989.

This collection consists of three series: 1) Articles and Research Material, 2) Correspondence and Manuscripts, 3) Photographs.

Professor T.D. Regehr deposited this material at the Mennonite Heritage Centre, Winnipeg in July of 1997.

The material in this series consists of articles and photocopied sections of books relating to the research of For Everything a Season. Topics of research include aspects of Russian and Soviet education, history and data of the Mennonite education system in Russia and the relationships between Russian and Mennonite authorities.

Correspondence and Manuscripts. -- 1986-1989. -- 19 cm of textual material.

The material in this series consists of the research and publication related correspondence of historian T.D. Regehr, including his sources Marie Hubert, Isaac Regehr and representatives of Canadian Mennonite Bible College (CMBC) Publications. This series also contains an outline of Regehr's manuscript and several versions of his manuscript, edited by various individuals. Also contained in this series are subsequent reviews of Regehr's book.

The four of the seven photos in this collection document the school building and

student body at the Alexanderkrone Zentralschule. The subject of the remaining three photos are of the I.P. Regehr house and family in Alexanderkrone, South Russia.
