Emigration to America During the 1870's  (p. 164)

 

The delegates from Molotschna, Chortitza, Volhynia and Prussia chose to go to the United States while the delegates representing the Kleinegemeinde Church, Fuerstenland Colony and Bergthal Colony chose Manitoba. Those immigrants that went to Manitoba had to go the Hull-Liverpool route. About 18,000 Mennonites immigrated to America during the 1870's.
