Mennonite Delegates’ Tour to Riding Mountain (p. 163)

The remaining seven delegates stayed in Winnipeg and went on the tour to Riding Mountain. On the return trip they were attacked by a group of Metis at White Horse Plains. Colonel Osborne Smith and thirty soldiers were dispatched from Winnipeg to rescue them.
