Historical note

Peace Mennonite Church was an outgrowth of Grace Mennonite Church in Regina, Saskatchewan. It was felt that there was a place for a second congregation in Regina after the first reached a certain size. They began meeting in rented facilities in 1985 and formally organized as a congregation in 1986 with 20 charter members. The membership stayed at about that figure for a number of years. In 2000 it stood at 22. They met in rented facilities until 1995 and then started sharing facilities with their parent congregation, Grace Mennonite Church, Regina. The leaders of the congregation were: Harold Peters-Fransen (1985-1988), Otto Driedger (1988-1991), Peter Peters (1991), Peter Neufeldt (1992), Florence and Otto Driedger (1993- ).
