Historical note

The congregation grew out of the other congregation in Mather, the Mather Mennonite Church, in 1976. They met in rented facilities. They completed their own meeting house in 1980. There were 39 charter members in 1976. In 1993 there were 72 members. In 2000 the membership stood at 55. The leaders of the congregation were: Clarence Neufeld (1976-1980), Ed Hildebrand (1981), George Toews (1982-1986), Gordon Janzen (1987-1990), Linda Enns (1990), Gary Daught (1991-1993), Ernie Hildebrand (1994- ).

Scope and content note

This fonds consists of annual reports, bulletins, minutes, and directories which pertain to the beginning and development of the congregation at Mather, Manitoba. It documents the leaders and participants in the congregation. The fonds contains bulletins (1977-2000, 2002-2008, 2010-2016), church council meeting minutes (1976-2000), congregational meeting minutes (1976-2000), annual reports (1977-2005), directories (1978-2000), membership and family register (1977-1980), charter member list (1976), miscellaneous documents (1980), and congregational constitutions (1977-2000).
