Historical note

The Church of the Way was founded in 1973 in Granisle, B.C. It was an outreach effort of the Mennonite congregation in Burns Lake, B.C. In 1974 there were 35 members. They met in rented facilities until they had their own meeting house in 1979. In 1980 the membership was 25. The membership was 9 in 2000. The leaders of the congregation were: George Born (1974-1980), Dick Hildebrandt (1981-1983), Norman Voth (1984-1987), David Ruby (1989-1991), Harold Anderson (1992-1996), Ken Peters (1998-2000), Ed Giesbrecht (2001- ).

Scope and content note

This fonds contains bulletins (1982-1991), annual reports (1982-1988), directory ([198-?]), and a Conference of Mennonites in B.C. newsletter (1991). The records pertain to the development of the Mennonite congregation in Granisle, B.C.. They document some of the leaders and participants in the congregation.
